Dhaka Elevated Expressway Toll Rates And Others

Honorable Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has completed the work of determining the toll of the Dhaka Elevated Expressway (Airport-Jatrabari). The vehicles plying on this 19.73 km long expressway are divided into four categories and the minimum toll for traveling on this expressway is Tk 100 and the maximum toll is Tk 625. However, this toll rate may decrease or increase at any time.

In a press conference on Monday (August 14), Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader said that the first part of the expressway from the airport to Farmgate will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on September 2.

The maximum speed limit for vehicles on the expressway is 60 kmph. Pedestrians and bicycles have been banned on the elevated expressway!

According to the information of Bangladesh Bridge Authority regarding the toll, the minimum toll for light vehicles will be Tk 100. This amount has to be paid even if you board or partially use the expressway. Again, light vehicles will have to pay Tk 125 if they use the expressway to the end. In case of bus service, if you use part of the expressway, you have to pay a toll of Tk. 200 and if you use the entire expressway, you have to pay a toll of Tk. 250.

Toll for medium (up to six wheels) size truck expressway is Tk 400 if used partially and Tk 500 for full use. For big trucks (more than six wheels), the toll for partial use of the expressway will be Tk 500 and the toll for full use will be Tk 625.

Dhaka Elevated Expressway Routes

Dhaka Elevated Expressway project director AHMS Akhtar said, “The toll rate of the expressway was decided earlier. Honorable Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will take the final decision regarding its launch. Investing companies will collect toll from this elevated expressway for 21 and a half years.”

The total cost of Dhaka Elevated Expressway is Tk 8,940 crore and the overall progress of project work is 65%.
